Who is responsible
PartyFellow is run by Arctic Fusion AB in Gothenburg, Sweden, the controller of personal data for the PartyFellow app, the reply pages on event.partyfellow.com and this website.
Send questions about your data to info@partyfellow.com. We reply within a month, usually much sooner.
What we keep
| Data | Where from | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Account: name, email, phone number, profile picture, country and language | From you, and the email from Google or Apple when you sign in | So you can sign in and guests see who is inviting them | Contract |
| Sign-in and verification: sign-in id, one-time code (stored encrypted) and IP address when you verify your number | From your sign-in and phone | Security and preventing abuse | Legitimate interest |
| Parties: name, date, place and description | From the organiser | The party itself | Contract |
| Guests: name, phone number, email, the child’s name for kids’ parties, reply, number of guests, comment and any dietary needs | From the organiser, and the replies from the guest | Sending invites and reminders and showing the organiser who is coming | Legitimate interest. Dietary needs only if the guest fills them in |
| Content: photos, chat messages, the wishlist, who reserved what, group gifts and who marked themselves as paid, likes, views and shares | From you and the others in the party | The shared album, chat, wishlist and group gifts | Contract |
| Purchases: which pack, when, and the receipt from the App Store or Google Play | From Apple or Google | Granting the right number of photos and showing the purchase is paid | Contract |
| Technical: your phone’s notification id, when you last opened the app, crash reports | From the app | Sending notifications and finding bugs | Contract and legitimate interest |
| Feedback: your message, rating and the contact details you leave | From you | Replying and improving the app | Legitimate interest |
You send group gift money between yourselves, as usual. PartyFellow handles no payments between guests.
Dietary needs can say something about health or religion. The field is optional, only visible to the organisers and only used to plan the food.
The contacts on your phone
When you invite guests, the app can show the contacts on your phone if you allow it. The list is read on the phone. Only the people you choose to invite are sent to us, with name and phone number. Contact photos never leave the phone.
We check whether an invited number already has a PartyFellow account, so the invite shows up straight away in that person’s app.
Texts and notifications
Invites, reminders and changes to a party are sent by text message with the organiser’s name, the party’s name and a link. One-time verification codes are sent by text too. We keep a log of sent texts for troubleshooting, with codes hidden.
App notifications are sent through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, which passes them on through Apple for iPhones. A notification holds a short text, for example who uploaded photos.
Data outside the EU
Our own systems are inside the EU. Google, Apple and Auth0 are US companies and may handle data in the United States. This happens under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Your account exists until you delete it.
- A party, with its photos, chat, wishlist and guest list, stays as long as the party exists in the app.
- Logs of texts, notifications and verifications are kept for troubleshooting and security.
- Purchases are kept as long as the account exists, since they show the photos are paid for.
- Feedback is kept as long as we need it to reply and improve the app.
If you want a party, logs or anything else about you deleted sooner, email info@partyfellow.com and we will do it.
Deleting your account
You delete your account in the app under Profile. We then remove your name, email, phone number, profile picture, sign-in details and your phone’s notification id. Photos and messages you shared in other people’s parties stay for the others, but without your name.
If you are organising an upcoming party, hand it over or end it first.
If you are on someone else’s guest list, the organiser added you. If you still want to be removed, or want everything you uploaded deleted, email info@partyfellow.com and we will do it.
If you are a planner and got an email from us
We email wedding and party planners about using PartyFellow for free. We find you through Google Maps and Google search (via the DataForSEO service) and read what your website says. We keep the business name, contact person, email, phone, website, town and a short summary of the website.
So we only email those it is relevant for, we let the AI service Anthropic (Claude) read the website text and judge whether you plan parties for others. Anthropic is a US company and only receives the business details and the website text.
Our emails contain an image and links that show whether the email was opened or a link clicked, with IP address and browser. We use this to avoid emailing needlessly and to see whether the emails work.
The basis is our legitimate interest in telling businesses about PartyFellow. Every email has an unsubscribe link. If you use it, we stop emailing and the address goes on a block list so it is never emailed again. To have the data about your business deleted entirely, or to object to the processing, email info@partyfellow.com.
This website
partyfellow.com has no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. The fonts are on our own server. Microsoft Azure, which delivers the pages, sees your IP address so it can send you the page.
If you reach the planner page from one of our emails, the link carries a code. It is only used so the QR code can show that a download came from the email.
Your rights
You have the right to know what data we hold about you and get a copy, to correct mistakes, to have data deleted, to restrict how it is used, to get it in a format you can take with you, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest.
Email info@partyfellow.com. If you think we are getting it wrong, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, imy.se, or the data protection authority where you live.
Changes
When we change how we handle data, we update this page and the date at the top. We tell you about bigger changes in the app.
